Koninklijke Wegener

In November 1903, in the east-central Dutch city of Apeldoorn, Johan Frederik Wegener started publishing a news and advertising paper De Nieuwe Courant, which would later become Apeldoornse Courant. More than a century later, that small publishing house has grown into today’s leading group specialising in newspapers and multimedia. In 2003, during the paper’s centenary year Wegener became ‘royal’ - Koninklijke Wegener NV. Royal Wegener NV was listed on the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1969. In November 2007, Mecom Group plc acquired 86.4% of the share capital of Wegener.

Limburg Media Group ("LMG")

LMG now represents the two most powerful and successful newspapers, Dagblad De Limburger and Limburgs Dagblad, in the province of Limburg. It is known to be independent, trustworthy and an authority for the news. Dagblad De Limburger started in 1845 and at that time was trading under 7 different titles: `t Weyerhörske, het Weekblad van Heerlen, Der Limburger Courier, De Limburger Courier, de Limburger Koerier, de Gazet van Limburg, De Nieuwe Limburger, De Limburger, and in 1971 it was officially named Dagblad De Limburger. In 2006, LMG was acquired by Mecom Group plc.
